information technology
(IT) projects and/or technical initiatives. Establish goals, metrics, determine future opportunities for change/improvements, assign individual responsibilities, and provide training opportunities for associates. Determine and acquire resources needed. Participate in the development of policies, procedures, standards and controls. Support IT related business planning requirements including, but not limited to budgeting, scheduling and workload planning. 1. Lead multiple, larger and more complex projects and/or technology initiatives and apply innovative solutions to systems, hardware, software, networking, programming, and/or applications problems. 2. Mentor associates within the department and continually develop project team competencies. Perform supervisory duties including, but not limited to hiring, training, evaluating, coaching, and disciplining direct reports. 3. Maintain and foster effective business relationships.. Take ownership of the relationship, ensure that business partner' s objectives are met, and gain mutual understanding when the objectives are not feasible. 4. Manage the business partner' s application portfolio by understanding and communicating needs to internal IT project teams and external vendors. 5. Lead business partners in developing business requirements and business cases ensuring IT requests are understood and properly supported by all stakeholders; ensuring the integrity of the IT Project Initiation process. 6. Analyze business requirements and present recommendations for introduction of new or enhanced systems, networks, hardware, software, or applications. 7. Develop and maintain Service Commitments to business partners. 8. Maintain regular and predictable attendance. 9. Perform other duties as assigned. Job Requirements: Required: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience Preferred: Master's degree and/or LOMA certification Microsoft Certification Oracle Certification PeopleSoft Certification ITIL Certification Required: 8 years experience in project management, programming, or systems analysis. 2-5 years management along with direct supervisory (reports) experience Highly advanced project management and systems analysis skills. Demonstrates ability to evaluate project objectives and scope, analyzes objectives for feasibility, and gain business understanding. Highly advanced people management skills, demonstrating the ability to lead, mentor, and develop associates; including the ability to delegate key areas of responsibility Ability to quickly adapt to new methods, work under tight deadlines and stressful conditions Advanced oral and written communication skills, demonstrating the ability to convey business terminology that is meaningful and well received Advanced investigative, analytical and problem solving skills Ability to work well within a team environment, participate in department/team projects and balance detail with departmental objectives Advanced ability to manage multiple projects and/or teams simultaneously Advanced ability to liaise with individuals across a wide variety of operational, functional and technical disciplines Advanced ability to translate business needs and problems into viable/accepted solutions Advanced skills in customer relationship management and change management Ability to resolve conflict and foster teamwork Broad business knowledge Advanced persuasion and negotiating skills when working with internal/external customers Advanced knowledge of structured and Object Oriented programming (Application Packages, PeopleCode), relational database design, Workflow, operating systems, networking concepts, and systems integration (Integration Broker) Advanced knowledge in software development and project management methodologies and possesses the ability to disseminate them to the team Expert knowledge of PeopleSoft Financials (AP, GL) PeopleSoft upgrade and implementation experience Proven leadership skills in leading high talent teams Advanced problem solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other departments to resolve complex issues with innovative solutions Preferred: 8 years experience in programming/systems analysis I Insurance and/or reinsurance industry knowledge Application Portfolio management experience Multi-lingual skills PeopleSoft Application (9.x), PeopleSoft tools (8.5x) HTML/XML VB/C#/ASP (.Net) IIS SQL (Oracle, SQL Server) PS/SQL Unix Shell Oracle Developer Oracle and SQL Server DB Sharepoint MS Analysis
